Digital Print Ideas - Bee Pattern

Looking at Different Ideas to Print Digitally.

A happy mistake at uni - Paper dyeing

Experimenting with different paper qualities and dyeing techniques.

One of my textile prints

This is one of my textile dip dyed fabric prints. I dip dyed the fabric in a scarlet red dye on to silk habotai. I then printed devore tentacles, followed by discharge squid pattern.

The design is taken from the marking of a squid. I used ink to create these marks on paper.

My Digital Jellyfish Prints

Here are some images i created for digital printing onto silk. The circle of colour represents a spot light, which the jellyfish are swimming past. The spot light colour allows the tentacles to create a shadow effect.

Another octopus picture.

Octopus Inspiration

Following my jellyfish inspiration I am also influenced by these highly intelligent animals. Therefore they are also taking place in my final major project for my textile degree.
I will be looking at the textures, tentacles and colours.

This particular octopus completely captivated me the way he changed his colouring and texture to his surroundings. The common octopus really deserves a better name than 'common'. I am thinking magnificent. The magnificent octopus.

Jellyfish Inspiration

How can you not be totally captivated by these spell binding creatures.
I have chosen Jellyfish to be the main bases for my Final Major Project. The colours, textures, patterns and movements will give me inspiration for new textile creation.
